A business brunch focused on developing trade and economic relations with Uzbekistan was held in St. Petersburg

{container}{Text}On the 19th March, 2025, a large-scale event dedicated to strengthening trade and economic ties between Russia and Uzbekistan was held in St. Petersburg. The organizers were the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Leningrad Region and the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in St. Petersburg. The event was attended by more than 80 businesses from St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region interested in developing cooperation with Uzbek partners.{/Text}{/container}

The Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in St. Petersburg, Abdurakhmon Akramzhanovich Makhmudov emphasized in his speech:

"Uzbekistan and Russia have a long history of cooperation, and today new horizons are opening up for us to strengthen economic ties. We see enormous potential in developing trade, investment and logistics between our countries. Uzbekistan is ready to offer Russian partners favorable conditions for doing business and mutually beneficial cooperation."

{container}{ava-alla}{Text2}The General Director of the International Trading House “ISMA” LLC Alla Maer, gave a presentation on export and import trends between Russia and Uzbekistan, and also presented relevant tools for developing business partnerships. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of mutually beneficial cooperation and finding new opportunities for it.{/Text2}{/container}

In preparation for the event, the team of The Internationation Trading House "ISMA" LLC conducted a survey among more than 5,000 entrepreneurs from St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region to identify their interest in exporting and importing goods and services in relation to Uzbekistan. An analysis of current trade between the two countries was also conducted, which made it possible to determine the most popular product directions and identify mutual export potential. In particular, goods were identified that each of the countries currently purchases from third countries, but could purchase from each other.

The event program included speeches by key speakers, including:
🔹Yuri Vasiliev, President of the Union "Leningrad Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry";
🔹Nodyrbek Dzhalilov, Director of the multimodal logistics hub "Termez Cargo Center";
🔹Mansurjon Dilmurod Ugli Rasulev, Acting Director of the Agency for Attracting Foreign Investments under the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
🔹Elizaveta Brikovskis, Head of International bank Settlements at Yangi Bank.

The participants discussed the current state and prospects for the development of trade and economic relations, the investment potential of Uzbekistan, as well as the specifics of mutual settlements between the countries.

The event ended in the best traditions of Uzbek hospitality: guests were treated to national dishes, including pilaf cooked in a cauldron, and were offered to taste pilaf in the form of canned food from one of the entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan. This was not only a pleasant end to the meeting, but also an opportunity for the participants to discuss prospects for cooperation in an informal setting.
